:20 Diary
:20 JANUARY
Our New Year started in Fort Lauderdale, but soon I needed to head back to London to continue working. Have the pleasure to hosting Salvatore at my place in London. Later in the month I travel back to Florida to meet Jim, but he had a epilepsy attack and have to stay in hospital for some days. Later we went back to Fort Lauderdale, celebrate his birthday and bought a condo there.

:22 FEBRUARY
February started moving from Okeechobee to Fort Lauderdale and with the help of Wayne, who hire a van we managed to do it in one day. While staying in Florida we went to see the Cirque of Soleil and then sold the trailer. Back to London to do some more work but then had the chance to go back to Florida again. This time was to buy more furniture to the new place. Had the first visitors in the condo Sal and Manny.

:22 MARCH
March started with the big news about Covid-19. As I was in the USA I was aware I needed to get back and I decided to do it before my birthday. Saying goodbye to Jim was sad. Came beck to work but on the 25th March the UK went into lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. From that day onwards I started working from home, as all the world stood still and lots of people dying.

:22 APRIL
This month started organizing work from home and not being able to the premises was hard. It was a new lifestyle as we could not go anywhere and not being able to meet anybody. Confined at home and worried about Jim being in the USA and knowing people were dying in the nearby condos. Glad I have my garden to escape with.

Fort Lauderdale Windsor
:20 MAY
May continue with the same intensity as April as Covid 19 was increasing and many people were dying. I spent the whole month indoors working for the council, but this time helping at the customer services dealing with bank foods and vulnerable people. It was a great experience. Zoom meetings were the usual thing at work and among friends. Jose came to visit me and stayed for sometime at home.

:20 JUNE
June came as a surprise as I managed to get Jim back to the UK as the situation over in America was not good. By having Jim here I felt much relieved, so we can built our life here now.
I also had the sad news of David's friend Margaret passed away, so I travelled to Suffolk and met up with Neil. I also went back to work in the library but serving customers outside. |
:20 JULY
This quiet month was very similar to June, but we have some visits from our neighbour Charlie, also Jose and Thomas came to the house.
At work still no people coming into the premises. Summer is at it's peak and we spent more time in the garden, either gardening or having meals Baking and cooking is a pastime and we are all getting fatter. |
:20 AUGUST
August was a better month as there were less restrictions to go out, so we ventured to visit Thomas who lives near Windsor. We also met up with Faisal, Ian and Camilo. We planned a trip to visit a place near Birmingham where our host Denyse was amazing and had a great time there. Work was beginning to start getting better as libraries were open to the public now.
|
:22 SEPTEMBER
Things during this month were started to shaping up, as we need to make decision with Jim regarding staying here in the UK. Life here is good and he likes the house and the neighbourhood, he needs to get accustomed to the way British life is somehow. We did more trips out around London and the weather was amazing.

:22 OCTOBER
October has come and we made the decision to get married, so Jim can stay here in the UK without any problems. We only have 5 witness for our ceremony and only 10 guests for the party at home in the garden as there are still restrictions here for people coming into the place. It was a great day we will always remember...
|
:22 NOVEMBER
November days are getting darker and life is London is becoming dull. Working as usual but having Jim here makes life easier. Could not any holidays plan at the moment so managing to update the house by adding new windows was a good option. The house now is warm again and looks nicer than before.
Next is the roof. |
:22 DECEMBER
End of the year brought us some surprises as Jim had an epilepsy attacked and had to be in hospital for some days. So we had a quiet time at home for Xmas as there was nowhere to go but also getting Jim recover peacefully. This year I lost three members of my family and that made you think about how to live life to the full while you are here.
