While trying to find ways to be more productive, I came across these kinds of routine programmes or what is more commonly called "Habits".
In the book “12 Rules for Life” Jordan Peterson wrote “THE POSITIVE HABITS IN LIFE NEED TO BE ROUTINE AND AUTOMATIZED. They must be turned into regular and reliable habits, so they lose complexity and gain predictability and simplicity.” The main question here is will I ever be able to keep these habits for a long time? How does one keep those habits stable and reliable? So I started looking around and I came up with this tough one. The 75 Hard Challenge has taken the internet by storm, and with good reason. With 5 simple tasks per day, the 75 Hard challenge creator promises a whole new level of mental toughness. Each day, participants must complete all 5 of the following tasks. 1. Follow a diet 2. Workout twice a day for at least 45 minutes with one workout outside 3. Drink 4 litres of water per day 4. Read 10 pages of nonfiction each day 5. Take a progress picture each day If a participant misses completing all tasks before they go to sleep, they must start back at day 1. Looks like a promising way to get into a good routine and empower you to focus for some time... 75 days... so what's after those days? Will my self-doubt crack on this one? Then I found the 75 Hard Challenge upgrade, a modified version of the first one. 1. One workout per day maximum 2. Sufficient rest and recovery days and emphasis on not just exercise but recovery and mobility 3. Practicing habits and routines, we’ll want to keep after day 75 4. Choosing specific, healthy eating guidelines that support our overall goals (performance, weight loss, energy levels, mental performance, etc.), not relying on “diets” or fads, and can be maintained after 75 days 5. Personalize the rules and goals of the challenge to include your desires and goals 6. Keep a checklist and check it off each day as proof that we’re doing something to be proud of instead of tracking “instant results” and misleading results (body image). It looks like a better realistic way to achieve your goals and a more reasonable to create some habits you can start incorporating into your lifestyle. But still, something was missing here that I didn't know what it was until I found this one, the 75 Soft Challenge. 1. PRACTICE GRATEFULNESS: List 20 things you are thankful for 2. APPRECIATE YOURSELF: List 20 great things about yourself 3. EXERCISE AND STRETCH: Exercise 45 minutes a day for 2 days, then stretch on 1 rest day, and repeat 4. EAT HEALTHY by eliminating sugar, limiting refined carbs, and adding a vegetable per meal 5. SKIP ALCOHOL 6. READ 10 PAGES of non-fiction 7. LEARN SOMETHING NEW for 15 minutes a day 8. DO SOMETHING YOU’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT for 15 minutes 9. RECORD EVERY TASK PER DAY COMPLETED in a journal I would like to something important to this list. 10. BE CONSISTENT Now, when I should start and if I will commit to it, that's another matter... I just hope this writing will inspire me to keep something I have started in Florida, but for some reason, I cannot keep doing it in the UK... call it the weather or a full of things I need to do at the moment to achieve other goals for this year. We will see... 1. Never shake hands with anyone without stand up.
2. In a negotiation, never make the first offer. 3. If they trust you with a secret, keep it. 4. Return the car you borrowed with a full tank. 5. Do things with passion or better not do them. 6. At the table do not talk about work, politics or religion. 13. Be fair, defend those who are abused without abusing. 14. Write down your goals and then work towards them. 15. Defend your point of view without offending or insulting, be tolerant and respectful of others. 16. Call and visit your parents, children, relatives and friends, don't waste time waiting for them to do it first. 17. Never regret anything, learn from everything. 18.
